Founder, CIEN Logistics Ltd
Our founder
In 2017, Roy Opuba, a seasoned professional with over a decade of expertise in freighting and customs clearance, envisioned a logistics company that would redefine the industry. This vision materialized into CIEN Logistics Ltd, a dynamic force in the world of logistics, providing comprehensive solutions in sea, air, land, and customs clearance.
CIEN Logistics Ltd was founded by Roy Opuba, a trailblazer with a wealth of experience in the intricacies of freighting and customs clearance. His vision was to establish a logistics powerhouse capable of seamlessly integrating services across various domains.
Who we are
CIEN Logistics is an international freight forwarding house. In Uganda we run air, sea and road freight, URA customs, warehousing and last mile — with specialist handling for aircraft spares, pharmaceuticals, humanitarian cargo, industrial parts, renewable energy, beverages, cosmetics and apparel.
The work is practical: correct URA entries, intact seals, booked capacity and a person who answers when a truck is delayed at Malaba or an AOG engine is on the Entebbe ramp.
2026
Kampala desk opened at Kololo IV, Golf Course, for URA, northern-corridor road and Entebbe air freight.
2017
Nairobi office at JKIA Cargo Centre, covering air, ocean, road and KRA files on the Kenya side of the lane.
Move cargo safely and on time, with documentation that stands up to URA, airlines and customers alike.
Be the Kampala desk shippers open first when a lane — AOG, cool-chain or cross-border energy — has to work the first time.
Clarity on rates, care with high-value and dangerous goods, and accountability from pickup to proof of delivery.
